Granite, Marble and Quartzite Countertops in West Bloomfield, MI
West Bloomfield is a renovation market more than a new-build one, and the jobs tend to be larger and more particular. Bigger custom homes, a lot of them on or near Cass, Pine, Orchard and Union Lake, many built decades ago and now on their second or third kitchen. The question is usually not "what's cheapest," it's "what goes with what's already here."
That's a stone-selection conversation, and it's worth having in person at our shop in Commerce Township, a short drive west. Matching new stone to existing millwork, existing floors, or a fireplace that's staying put is easier to solve standing in front of full slabs than it is over email.
Two things come up often on West Bloomfield jobs. The first is marble and quartzite in master baths and on feature surfaces, where the look matters more than the abuse the surface will take. We'll walk you through the difference honestly, including the fact that a lot of slabs sold as quartzite are actually soft dolomitic marble that will etch. The second is the windows. Lake-facing houses here get a great deal of direct sun, and most engineered quartz is not UV rated and will fade over time in a bright room. Natural stone is the safer answer in a wall of glass.
Walled Lake sits a few minutes west of here, and the work we do there looks different again — older, tighter kitchens where one slab often covers the whole job.
